Gang, Our next conference call will be tomorrow: Thursdays, December 6 Time: 4:30 PM to 6 PM Telephone line everyone is to dial in to: (617) 258-7910 We don't have to use the entire 1.5 hours of course. Agenda: ------- 1. Review (quickly) the status of the goals set at end of the Jlab workshop (see below). 2. What are the new issues or problems since the Jlab Workshop? e.g * I understand Doug Toussaint is has encountered some bugs running C code on the QCDOC simulator. Has this been fixed? 3. Data Layout Standards: Carleton, Robert and I have been discussing this issue. I believe a minunum set of Supported Data Types must be adopted. Carleton has suggested a method of dealing with multiple data layouts (see Carleton's Suggestion on Data Types above) good start for tomorrow. I would like a strawman approach developped by the following week and presented to the Committee meetings Dec 13 and 20. 4. A level 2 desing needs to be formulated --- hopefully by the SciDAC meeting at the end of February 2002. Who does what when? Rich ======================================================================================= Goals for 2nd Quarter: (Oct 15 - Jan 15) 1. MP API a. QMP API C, C++ defined, documented b. QMP (c) over MPI finished. c. QMP (C) over GM finished for Myrinet clusters d. QMP (C++ and C) nearest neighbor on QCDOC and API sufficiently analyzed for high perf implications 2. Level 2 (and Level 1 QLA) Repertoire of functions and naming conventions. Level 1 & 2 kernel with on Data Layout supported by all platforms for maximun peformance. 3. MILC (Level 1 port) on QCDOC simulator With sufficient information that we can forecast performance. 4. P4 Optimization.
