Next call is day after tomorrow: Dates: July 9, 2002 Day: Thursdays Time: 3 PM to 5 PM Telephone Number Assigned: 617-258-7910 Lattice 2002 Meeting: Major participants: Rich Brower Carleton DeTar (unable to attend due to family emergency) Massimo DiPierro Robert Edwards Bob Mawhinney Steve Gottlieb Jim Simone Doug Toussaint Eric Gregory Andrew Pochinsky Chulwoo Jung Konstantin Petrov Hartmut Neff Dave Richards James Osborn (plus many listening in for the early period) We had a very productive meeting at Lattice 2002. I want to follow up on some of the suggestions that came form it as given in the agenda below. (We will not get to them all in one meeting but they form the set of topics we need to consider in the near future.) In general I think we need to define separate responsibilities to move forward more rapidly in parallel on software projects. Defining these "subcommittees" is of course part of the agenda. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agenda: #0 Suggestions for future agenda (agenda is its own plural?) #1. Status of the Level 2 API (QCP) see ---- Level2API_latest.pdf on http://buphy.bu.edu/~brower/SciDAC/qcdapidoc.html #2. C++ binding for QDP: Subcommittee Edwards,Petrov and DiPierro. (Must have a single version!) see ---- QDP++ prototype by Robert Edwards http://www.jlab.org/~edwards/qdp/ #3. Level 1 QLA library: implementation in C by Andrew Pochinsky and James Osborn (Not a separate partition in C++ binding of API?) #4. Test application on top of Level 2: *MILC application in QDP (C binding) by James Osborn *Astad force term for QCDOC by Eric Gregory and Petrov (?). *Wilson inverter in QDP++ by Dave Richards, R. Brower, M. DiPierro (Purpose is to exercise QDP as a tool for incremental development of new applications linked to existing application codes and to benchmark a few routines against Level 1 or Level 3 code.) #5. I/O and Data File formats: Subcommittee with Bob Mawhinney, .. #6. Discuss methods for *Error detection inside running application code *Uniform (web based?) queue/batch standards From brower@lns.mit.edu Wed Jul 10 00:27:06 2002 Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2002 00:26:29 -0400 From: Richard Brower To: cmendes@cs.uiuc.edu, detar@physics.utah.edu, djholm@fnal.gov, edwards@jlab.org, watson@jlab.org, rdm@phys.columbia.edu, brower@ctpup.mit.edu, avp@lns.mit.edu, simone@fnal.gov, osborn@physics.utah.edu Subject: REMINDER All, Next call is day after tomorrow: Dates: July 9, 2002 Day: Thursdays Time: 3 PM to 5 PM Telephone Number Assigned: 617-258-7910 Lattice 2002 Meeting: Major participants: Rich Brower Carleton DeTar (unable to attend due to family emergency) Massimo DiPierro Robert Edwards Bob Mawhinney Steve Gottlieb Jim Simone Doug Toussaint Eric Gregory Andrew Pochinsky Chulwoo Jung Konstantin Petrov Hartmut Neff Dave Richards James Osborn (plus many listening in for the early period) We had a very productive meeting at Lattice 2002.
