All, Software call tomorrow. November 18th, 2004, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Number of people 12 Phone number 617 324 7294 I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE ENTIRE "alpha testers" LISTED BELOW JOIN THE CALL. =================================================================== After discussion with the Executive Committe it was decided that the "Friendly User Group" should be broken into two phases. Dec 1 to Feb 1 "alpha testers" Feb 1 to April 1 add "beta testers" to expand the scope. The first phases would use my suggested narrow list of "experts" for the "alpha testers": BNL (QCDOC): Dru Renner (MILC) Steve Gottlieb (MILC) James Osborn (Chroma) FNAL (Myrinet): Dave Richards (Chroma) Steve Gottlieb (MILC) Another Member (???) JLab (GigE) Detar (MILC) Steve Gottlieb (MILC) Kostas (Chroma) The "alpha testers" will verifying that essential software components are bug free and can give correct result in the hands of experts. (Full MILC & Chroma application codes would be run.) The second phase of "beta testers" (e.g. the "alpha testers" plus more typical users) will test the common user enviroment and general services of the Labs to see if they are ready for the outside users who been given allocations by the program committee and general SciDAC users with small projects. Agnda:========================================================================== #1. Discusions of specific tasks for the "alpha testers" and the evaluation and reporting mechanism. #2. The usual set of status reports: Level 3 inverters I/O Lattice Archive for SciDAC users. etc. Cheers, Rich -- Prof. Richard C.
